Methodology
The Defaltam Method: a website live in 7 days, documented step by step.
In short
The Defaltam Method is a fixed 7-step process that takes a business website from first enquiry to live launch in 5 to 7 days. Each step has one deliverable, one owner and a fixed time window.
Payment is 50% upfront and 50% on delivery. Scope, price and launch date are fixed in writing before any code is written, and the client owns the domain, code and analytics at every stage.
At a glance

- Clients keep the domain, source code, hosting account and analytics with no exit fee.
The seven steps
Step 1 · Day 0 — reply within a few minutes
How does a project start?
You send a short enquiry with your business, your current website (if any) and what you want the site to do. No brief document and no discovery call are required.
Deliverable: Written quote with fixed price and fixed deadline.
Step 2 · Day 0–1
How is scope agreed?
The quote lists the exact page count, the features included, the delivery date and the price. Anything outside that list is quoted separately before it is built.
Deliverable: Signed-off scope, page list and launch date.
Step 3 · Day 1
When does payment happen?
50% is paid upfront to start the build and 50% on delivery, by Stripe or bank transfer. Monthly plans are billed monthly with no minimum term.
Deliverable: Deposit paid, build slot reserved.
Step 4 · Day 1–5
How is the site built?
The homepage is built first and shared as a live preview link, then inner pages follow. Every page is mobile-first, hand-coded, and checked against Core Web Vitals targets: LCP under 2.5 seconds, INP under 200 milliseconds, CLS under 0.1.
Deliverable: Live staging URL, updated daily.
Step 5 · Day 5–6
How does review and feedback work?
You review the staging link and send feedback as a list. One to two rounds of revisions are included in every package.
Deliverable: Approved design and copy.
Step 6 · Day 6–7
What happens at launch?
The site is deployed to your domain with SSL, analytics, a sitemap, robots.txt and schema.org structured data in place. Search Console is connected and the sitemap submitted the same day.
Deliverable: Live website, indexed and tracked.
Step 7 · Day 7 onward
What happens after launch?
30 days of free changes are included. Monthly plans continue with hosting, backups, uptime monitoring and small edits. You own the domain, the code and the analytics at all times.
Deliverable: Ongoing support, no lock-in.

What the method deliberately excludes
- — Discovery workshops and briefing decks — the quote replaces them.
- — Account managers — the founder, Stefan Daniel, runs every project directly.
- — Long contracts and minimum terms — monthly plans cancel anytime.
- — Surprise invoices — out-of-scope work is quoted before it is started.
FAQ
Questions about the method.
How long does a Defaltam website take from first email to launch?
5 to 7 days. Day 0 is the quote, day 1 is the deposit and build start, days 1 to 5 are the build with daily preview links, days 5 to 6 are review and revisions, and days 6 to 7 are launch and indexing.
What makes the 7-day delivery possible?
Three constraints: fixed scope written into the quote, no discovery calls or briefing decks, and hand-coded pages built from a maintained component system rather than page builders. Scope changes are quoted separately instead of delaying launch.
What is included in every build regardless of package?
Mobile-first responsive layout, Core Web Vitals targets (LCP under 2.5s, INP under 200ms, CLS under 0.1), on-page SEO, sitemap.xml, robots.txt, schema.org structured data, SSL, analytics and Google Search Console setup.
Who owns the website after launch?
The client. Defaltam clients keep the domain, the hosting account, the source code and the analytics property. There is no minimum contract and no exit fee.
How many revision rounds are included?
One to two rounds during the build, plus 30 days of free changes after launch. Larger scope changes are quoted upfront before any work starts.
